International Expert for the High Commissioner on National Minorities (HCNM)/Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). January 2015-October 2015.

Project Title: Multilingual Education Strategy Development

Key Contributions and Policy Impact:

• Led field research based on desk research and carried out qualitative/quantitative analysis evaluating multilingual education reforms for ethnic minorities (Azeri and Armenian) in Georgia.
• Wrote an official report based on research with policy recommendations subsequently incorporated into Georgian national education policy.
• Demonstrated strong stakeholder engagement with governmental and non-governmental bodies.
• Presented research findings to political elites as well as other governmental and non-governmental organisations.

International Consultant for the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. April 2013-August 2013.

Project Title: Language Policy Research

Key Contributions and Policy Impact:

• Conducted research (emanating from literature reviews) into the roles of Tatar, Russian and English in contemporary Tatar society.
• Designed and led the field research using mixed-methods research tools and analysed the data.
• Authored an official government report (in Russian) that included evidence-based based recommendations for the 2013-2022 Tatar language policy, showcasing exceptional writing and political sensitivity.
